19 Lessons - 19 Years

1. Life moves extremely quickly, so, do not count your days but rather, make your days count. The days my seem long but the years just seem to pass quicker and quicker.

2. Solo travelling is never solo. People are everywhere to meet, there are stories to hear, items to share, relationships to forge, and there is God there to put random things in your path. Those random moments, those situations that somehow end up resolved, that isn't just luck, or being in the right place at the right time, it's God's hand.

3. To travel deeper is to realize that we are all the same, no matter our physical circumstances. While our outward appearances are different all across this globe, we are all humans with needs and desires. I try to remember that as I look into the faces of the hundreds and hundreds ..and hundreds... of people who I've already passed by.

4. Music can make you travel through time and space. I relate certain songs to certain mundane moments, places, or circumstances. Just like certain smells transport me to different instances in my life, all I have to do is close my eyes and let music take me around.

5. We all need some perspective. There are currently over 7 billion ways to live life and see life. The more we connect with others, the more colorful our lives will be. The man-made items in our life are not what give it meaning, but rather the people we meet and spend our lives with.

6. It's okay to speak little when little is needed. Confidence is silent next to loud insecurities. (And as I've learned, introverts seem to have the ideas: extroverts know how to communicate them to the rest of the group. Put the two together and you get something amazing.)

7. If you stick to too many rules, there's a chance you'll never get anywhere. I've had this issue where I need everything structured, because structure keeps me comfortable. But certain people in my path have shown me that sometimes, there just isn't a reason NOT to get a little lost. (After all, we are in the age of GPS.. so nothing could ever go impossibly wrong.)

8. There will never not be someone trying to sell you something, and nothing in life is free.

9. Travel is NOT the only you thing that makes you richer. People make you richer. Meeting your neighbors, forging friendships, and giving people your time will make you richer.

10. Some people say that you shouldn't care what other people think. But that's just another excuse for being lazy. My presence adds to the overall ambiance. Whatever I say and do can shape what others say and do around me, so it matters to an extent.

11. Your health is the most expensive thing you own. I am and want to be learning as much as I can about nutrition, meditation, and overall body positivity and energy in order to keep my health at optimum levels. P.S. the Cancer Industry of the USA is just that: an industry. If you have the ability to learn about health and your body for yourself then some doctors are just businessmen, and we only really need surgery in an emergency if we do it right. (Pharm. wants your money.. I won't forget it.)

12.Together, it is your EQ, your IQ, and your body's health that create a state of well-being. As Socrates' philosophy included having a healthy mind and healthy body, we should also add it to ours.

13.True peace is not possible to attain without the gospel of Christ. Inner peace for everyone will equal world peace.  "Let it begin with me."

14. There are infinite possibilities when it comes to humanity; peoples, cultures, lifestyles. Every life is a combination -- of hopes, dreams, emotions, people, places, experiences, and choices.

15. I've learned now important it is to read. I'll read the opposing view, a topic I've never heard of, anything and everything and keep reading and then I might be successful.

16. We actually don't know much of anything. Even with the libraries and schools and philosophies, all the facts to learn, the mathematics to understand, the tiny glimpses of history we know, there is an entire universe worth of truth, of things done and said by people, (and let's not forget the plethora of different types of people who've walked and are walking on the earth as we know it) an entire universe worth of all of these things in our little tiny world. So.. one can't even imagine how much more there is outside of this world. *mind blows*

17. Stick to your values. If you learn and cultivate your personal values and learn what your main purpose is, the potential of things you are capable of will come. If you focus on your potential, you'll get lost in a giant ocean.

18. No one owes you anything, you owe everything to yourself and everyone around you.

19. The carousel never stops turning. This moment is the most important and will disappear just as soon as it came. (You will never be who you are now, ever again.) So take it all in, use your senses to the best of their ability, give hugs, run, do something hard, say yes and figure it out later.
